About tea

It seems that tea is the most popular beverage in the world. Surprisingly, at first tea was used for medicinal purposes, and only in 7-10 centuries AD, during the Tan dynasty, tea gained popularity as everyday drink.

Tea has become a fact of life - people drink it at home, in business meetings, at parties, on holidays, during workouts and fancy dinners. But does everyone know that tea is not only a tasty, but also a very healthy drink?

Black tea

The traditional technology for making black tea involves full fermentation for at least two weeks and up to one month. Black tea is the most popular tea in Europe, including Russia. We drink it every day, but what do we know about it?

The name 'black tea' has become popular in Europe, in China this drink is called 'red tea', while the Chinese call pu'er 'black tea', pu'er is a postfermented tea and one of the most expensive in the world.

Some of the most popular sorts of black (or red) tea are: Keemun, Dianhong (Yunnan), Assam, Ceylon, Earl Grey, Lapsang Souchong. Often Darjeeling is also referred to this group, however, it's not entirely correct, as this tea doesn't go through full fermentation process.
